This interface displays a set of the most commonly-referenced configuration options for PHP. This is useful, for example, to help you diagnose problems with how your web site handles PHP packages.

PHP directives

The table contains a brief description of each directive in the PHP Configuration interface.

Select a PHP version

If your hosting provider allows you to select the version of PHP that your website uses, use this section of the interface to make your selection.
To select a PHP version, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (PHP) from Software section.
3 – From the menu, select the version of PHP that you wish to use. Select System Default to use the version that your hosting provider selected.
4 – Click Update.

PHP PEAR Packages

PHP PEAR Packages

PHP PEAR packages are software components that are written in the PHP language. The PHP PEAR Packages interface allows you to search for and add PEAR packages to your website, or view all of your website’s available PHP packages.

PEAR package installer

This feature allows you to search for, download, and install a PEAR package.
To search for and install a PEAR package, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (PHP PEAR Packages) from Software section.
3 – Use one of the following methods to find the desired PEAR package:
• Enter a search term in the available text box and click Go.
• Click Show Available Modules to list available PEAR packages.
4 – The interface displays the following information for all of the displayed PEAR packages:
• Module Name — The PEAR package’s name.
• Version — The PEAR package’s version number.
• Description — A description of the PEAR package.
• Actions — The actions that you may perform for that PEAR package.
5 – Click Install next to the PEAR package that you wish to download and install.
• To view a PEAR package’s documentation, click Show Docs for that PEAR package.
• If you did not find the desired PEAR package, enter a new keyword in the Search text box and click Go.

Installed PEAR packages

The Installed Modules table lists all of the PEAR packages that exist on your server.
For each installed PEAR package, the table displays the following information:
• Module Name – The PEAR package’s name.
• Version – The PEAR package’s version number.
• Actions – You can perform the following actions for each PEAR package: Update, Reinstall, Uninstall and Show Docs.

System modules

cPanel includes specific pre-installed PEAR packages. To see a list of pre-installed PEAR packages, click Show System Modules.

Perl Modules

Perl Modules

Perl modules are software components in the Perl language. This interface allows you to search for and install Perl modules from the CPAN repository to your website.
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Perl Modules) from Software section.

Perform one of the following actions to find the desired module and install it:
• Enter a search term in the Search text box and click Go. You will see modules that are specific to that search term.
• Click Show Available Modules to see a list of available Perl modules from CPAN.

WHM displays the following information for the displayed modules:
• Module Name – The module’s name.
• Description – A description of the module.
• Actions – The actions that you may perform for that module.

The Installed Modules table

The Installed Modules table displays all of the modules that are currently installed to your cPanel account.
For each installed module, the table displays the following information:
• Module Name – The module’s name.
• Version – The module’s version number.
• Actions – The actions that you may perform for that module. For each module, you can perform the following actions: Update, Reinstall, Uninstall and Show Documentation.

System modules

cPanel & WHM includes specific Perl modules.
To see a list of the system-installed Perl modules, click Show System Installed Modules.

Site Software

Site Software

The Site Software interface allows you to add, manage, upgrade, and remove cPAddons (cPanel Addons). cPAddons are software packages that add useful functions to your website. For example, cPAddons can run blogs, bulletin boards, ecommerce software, guest books, and other services.

Install WordPress to a cPanel account

1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Site Software) from Software section.
3 – Fill Install data: Installation URL, Admin User, Admin Password, Email, Blog name, Blog description, Table Prefix, and MySQL Database.
4 – Click Install.

Optimize Website

Optimize Website

This interface allows you to configure your server to automatically compress specified types of content when visitors access that content.

Manage compression

– Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
– Click on (Optimize Website) from Software section.

To disable compression of your website’s content, perform the following steps:
1 – Select Disabled.
2 – Click Update Settings.
To compress all of your website’s content, perform the following steps:
1 – Select Compress all content.
2 – Click Update Settings.
To specify a list of types of content to compress, perform the following steps:
1 – Select the Compress the specified MIME types option.
2 – In the MIME types text box, enter a space-separated list of the types of content that you wish to compress (for example, text/html text/plain text/xml).
3 – Click Update Settings.

Select PHP Version

To select the desired version of PHP.
The Select PHP Version icon will link to the Current PHP version selection screen.
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Select PHP Version) from Software section.
3 – Click on the PHP Version drop-down control to select from the available versions of PHP installed on the server. This selection affects your entire cPanel account – you cannot operate different versions of PHP for different addon/sub-domains or directories.
4 – You MUST click the Set as current button to activate any changes.
